Instructions

The State of Texas may require a bond to obtain a title for a vehicle when the applicant is unable to provide a properly assigned Certificate of Title or Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO).

The Texas DMV requires that you show eligibility for a bonded title. The first step is to submit a Statement of Facts form (VTR-130-SOF) to your local DMV. The form is available at the following link, https://www.txdmv.gov/motorists/buying-or-selling-a-vehicle/bought-a-vehicle-with-no-title or you can get the form at your local DMV.

The state will send a Notice of Determination for a Bonded Title (VTR-130-ND). The state provides the bond amount on this form, which is 1.5 times the value of the vehicle.

Enter your application with us once you have the bond information provided by the state.

Please send a copy of the Notice of Determination form to info@ezsuretybonds.com

Once you receive the bond, you will take it along with the VTR-130, copy of the bill of sale, and an Application for Texas Title (130-U) to your local DMV. We provide this application in our bond package, or you can go to the following link to get the application https://www.txdmv.gov/sites/default/files/form_files/130-U.pdf.

You can find additional information on the Texas DMV page, https://www.txdmv.gov/motorists/buying-or-selling-a-vehicle/bought-a-vehicle-with-no-title.

If the state shows a lien on the vehicle, they may request a Certificate of Lien Satisfaction be signed by the surety. We cannot sign a Certificate of Lien Satisfaction; You will need to get a lien release from the lien holder to show satisfaction of the lien to the state.
